Volunteers contribute at any size, at any time. Maintainers hold decision rights on a project, earned through sustained volunteering or brought with a project that joins.
Questions
Do I need to be a developer?
No. Reviewing recitations, checking source text, reporting issues, and translating documentation are all useful contributions.
Is everything open source?
QUD is an open ecosystem. Each project carries one label: Open source, Contributions by invitation, or Coming public.
What happens to my project if it joins?
Your name stays on it as author and lead maintainer. The license and the project’s identity stay unchanged. Decisions are made in the open.
Can I leave?
Yes. Every project that joins keeps an exit clause and can leave with its project.
Who decides what gets featured?
Maintainers curate the Built on QUD listing against a published bar: uses a QUD foundation, maintained, documented, and solving an identified gap.
How do I become a maintainer?
By sustained volunteering, or by bringing a project into QUD as its lead maintainer.
Is there payment?
Contributions are voluntary today. Paid residencies are outside the current scope; we are open to them later.
